Why Consider Buying from Charles E?

They say "art saves lives," and they're right. I started painting in a mental health recovery program, and continue to paint to help me keep calm and sane and safe.

Of course, not everyone wants a full on painting-- people like coffee cups, t-shirts, hats, stuff they can use in their daily lives. Now I've taken to printing my painting images onto these things, so you can have your morning coffee in an Einstein mug, wear a shirt with Dali on it, maybe have a ball cap with Marilyn Monroe's eyes on it.

Wear my art. Take it home and have it in your daily life. Support a crazy person.

I love my Marilyn coffee mug, and my George Harrison tee.

Charlie's depiction of Cesar Chavez is so spot on, I just had to have him on a t-shirt!

About the Artist

Charles E

extremely retired

Retiring from candle making after 35 years-- the industry changed, the market changed, whatever-- I took up painting while a attending a mental health recovery program. I did a couple landscapes, wasn't terribly impressed, then tried a simple silhouette portrait. After a while I started working in more colors and details, but still somewhat abstract in style.

Painting continues to be an integral component in my mental health recovery.

Critics decry and describe my work as "mostly old dead people-- nobody cares!" well, I'll agree with the first part. Icons. History. Americana. Memories. oh, there's a lotta dead people there. But "nobody cares"? I hope that's not the case..
